Cross-sectoral approach

Led by an assiduously assembled team of world-renowned experts who inform and guide our work at every stage, we help our clients overcome complex challenges and unlock value in the dynamic environments within which they operate - from the Defence & Security sector to the Oil & Gas, Smart Cities, Energy Water & Waste and other important arenas.

Our innovative approach draws on the premise that all global challenges are intertwined, so it is imperative to employ cross-sectoral methodologies as a means of solving them. Moreover, it assumes that AI, Cyber, Autonomous Systems and various other enabling technologies which have the potential to solve problems in one sector, very often have their origins in others - hence, "cross-cutting technologies" such as these must also be a part of the solution.

Accordingly, our meticulously designed approach has been formed around a synthesis of the cross-sectoral methodologies and "cross-cutting technologies", which we believe afford the most effective basis for the solution to not only the grand challenges facing the world, at a macro-level, but for our clients on a micro-level. In keeping with this approach, we provide our sector-specific specialists with unparalleled support from teams that possess the appropriate cross-sectoral expertise for any given assignment - and in the process of doing so, aim to help break the ‘silo’ mentality which, in our view, has come to dominate organisational culture, entrench challenges and stifle progress.

Within the scope of an assignment, clients can therefore expect significant emphasis to be placed on:

  • Establishment of common goals and requirements
  • Cross-sector/cross departmental collaboration
  • Potential for cross-cutting technologies and solutions
  • Deployment of relevant enablers – AI/ML, Autonomous Systems, Cyber, etc.

Cutting-edge, actionable, research-based frameworks

From political and economic risks to those of a social, technological, legal and environmental dimension, stakeholders must be capable of responding, evolving and adapting to a greater range of threats than ever before. Those failing to do so risk losing market share or becoming irrelevant. In the circumstances, it is essential that organisations wishing to enter a market, or simply remain in it, have access to the highest quality of competitive intelligence, insight and analysis.

Drawing upon the unparalleled knowledge and experience inherent in our supporting faculties, we are engaged in an ongoing process to develop the most cutting-edge, actionable, research-based frameworks. In all cases, we aim to not merely meet our clients’ expectations, but to truly surpass them.

Methodology

Whilst no single assignment is ever the same and we treat each on an entirely individual basis, our over-arching approach typically follows a four-step process, incorporating analysis, planning, execution and evaluation.

Step 1.Analysis

- Market/opportunity analysis.
- Identification of desired outcomes.
- Capabilities audit (structure, people, processes, strategy, etc.)
- Summary of findings.
- Recommendations for further action.

Step 2.Research & Planning

- Further research (internal and external) to inform development of action plan.
- Development of action plan, aligned to strategic objectives, goals and desired outcomes - per the earlier and most recent findings.
- Focus on actionable, feasible steps, tailored to client's specific needs.
- Preparation of budget, KPIs, etc.

Step 3.Execution/Delivery

- Carefully coordinated, distinct, sequenced series of activities, designed to engage principal stakeholders, improve understanding and advance programme objectives.
- Typical components include: Training, Workshops, Leadership programmes, etc.

Step 4.Evaluation & Assessment

- Gathering of data and feedback from programme participants, project partners and other stakeholders.
